How often do
you find yourself thinking?
Not
worrying, but thinking….
I know this
may sound a bit weird to some of us.
But it actually does more good than harm just
taking some time out to sit and think.
Recently, I
caught myself doing just that.
I caught
myself asking a question.
And the
question was, what’s wrong with having talents and reverence for God under one
roof, (Temple)?
I don’t know
if you have thought about it lately. But I find it weird to realize that most
of us somehow, have got this idea that it’s impossible to have both attributes
under one temple.
Oh yeah!
It’s true.
If you have
ever seen someone behaved or acted so perfectly well in a manner that beats
your own expectations in regards to certain things or situation and be like; O
..k…! This is too good to be true! Then you might want to pay close attention
to the content of this article.
Remember; ideas
are made visible by our actions. You may not have thought about it this way.
But that’s the reality my friend!
Just like
our believe system. You cannot claim to believe in something and not be caught
living it out, not knowing. The challenge with some of us today is that, what
we say we believe publicly when asked of our belief is different from what we
actually believe in, in terms of what we practice daily. In case you are not sure of what you truly
believe in, just pay attention to what drives your life as an individual,
that’s a pointer to what you truly believe in as suppose to what you tell
others, including yourself, is your belief.
When talent
becomes a substitute for the reverence for God in our lives, then we are of the
believe that both talents and reverence for God cannot be under same roof. And when
the reverence for God becomes our excuse for not laying hold and polish our
talents then we are also of the opinion that the both cannot sail under the
same ship.
Nothing
makes me so sad like encountering people with so much talent but yet lack
reverence for God. Especially those few who feels, adding the fear of God to
their talents would reduce the efficacy of their talents. I just do not get it.
Same applies to sitting with men and women with the fear of God but frown at
the idea of the development of their talents to their full potential. I mean,
it’s almost like, they feeling liking losing the fear and reverence for God if
they do.
Before you
start asking what exactly is your point?
Why do you
think most people with great talents who started out well with reverence for
God all of a sudden start compromising their spiritual principles just so they
could get their talents to be noticed and sometimes sponsored by others?
And why do you think some others with the fear
of God are so scared to put themselves out there like they should if not for
the fear of losing their reverence for God. Believing that the noticing of
their talents could cost them their fear for God.
It would be
easy to just blame it on greed, lack of patience or the lust for money and fame
or even low self esteem. Which although could also be the case. But the truth
is, somehow, in our subconscious we have come to believe the lies that we
cannot have both talents and the reverence for God in one and same temple.
Remember the
elements of greed, lack of patience, lust for fame/ money are all informed by
our secret believe systems. What this
simply means is; you cannot carry out whether in the secret or public on a
consistent basis something you do not believe in. Not to mention when it
becomes automatic with you.
And this is
the same idea that’s responsibly for the feeling that God has not been fair to
some of us. In that He’s asking of us
what He knew we cannot do. If this is true for you, then you might want to
think again…
There’s
nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with having both talent and the fear of God
under one roof.
The fact
remains the both are God’s idea and that means they originated from Him. God
can never create attributes that cannot coexist. Any and everything created by
God would and can live together if we learn the responsibility of following
God’ instructions in regards to them.
Talents
according scriptures are gifts, abilities and
grace, money, given to a man by God and the reverence for God is an
attributes required of us by God, having them both residing in us should be one
of the most natural thing to do. Refuse to believe the lie that you can’t have
the both of them residing in you.
If you are
struggling with an idea, the best place to start from in solving the challenge
you are faced with in regards to that idea is your believe system around that
idea. When you do that, you will be amazed the light you would discover.
Stay Lifted!
