The word desire speaks of expectations,
it speaks of hope. It is not a bad thing to desire something especially in the
place of prayer. The reality is, praying without desiring what you re praying
about is praying amiss , and this can keep you in a place of prayer for a very
long time. It could also get you to a place of repeating words before
God.
Our desire in a place of prayer gets God's
attention quicker than our eloquence.
Often times it is hard for us to put our
desires in words before God, that's when we re expected to pray in tongues while
we allow the Holy Spirit to lay hold of our desires and present it before God
the Father in a clearer language. Its not the will of God to take forever to
have our prayers anwsered, its also not the will of God for us to spend a whole
day praying and waiting for one thing while there are people out there waiting
to encouter God through us. Jesus was never found praying while He was suppose
to be attending to the needs of the people around Him, not because He never
loved to spend time in prayer, but because He never went to pray without a
desire. God knows our hearts, He knows what we need , but He wants to get it
through to us through our desire.
What soever you desire when you
pray!
I have come to realize that desires that
well up inside of us while we pray is always from God, because I don't believe
the devil is present while I pray. I dont know about you, but one person I do
not expect when I pray is the devil.
Friends when you pray forget that the
devil exist and go before your Father with heart full of desires and you will be
amazed how quickly your prayers will be answered. Proverbs 23:18
Shalom!
