Love, A Better Option

Romans 13:8-10  Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

It's amazing to know that God requires that every one of us, especially His children keeps to the law. I know this may sound strange to some of us. But that's the truth.

God would definitely not have us kill, steal and covet just because we are His kids. As a matter of truth being His sons and daughters puts a demand on us to fulfill the law.

On the other hand trying to fulfill the law with our own strength and ability puts us in the danger of breaking it. For example, how do we know what to do in order not to covet someone else's stuff. Or what do we do to avoid the sin of adultery or murder knowing that one can be guilty of any of these sins by just considering them in their heart.

This is where the law of love comes handy. Like the scripture puts in verse ten of Romans 13; herefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Which is easier, trying to remember and practice all the commandments word for word, line upon line or just learning to love my neighbor? I don't know about you, but learning to love is way easier.
God knew this long ago hence He instructed us to love one another. He knew love is definitely a better option.

There is something about loving a neighbor and that it prevents us from doing any harm to them. You  can't love someone and covet his/ her stuff. It's not possible. You can't love and at the same time steal from the same person.

... But the greatest is LOVE!

Yes, you and I can fulfill the law. In fact that's one of God' expectations for us. This is why He introduced us to His love. When we learn to love, the ability to fulfill the law comes natural to us.
Any man living in love is indirectly fulfilling the law.

Dear friend the grace to fulfill the law is the very love of God residing in you.
